How this site handles your data
Who runs this site
Nothing but Tools is a personal project run by Chris Cleasby, a UK-based risk professional. It is not a company and has no commercial relationship with the tools or services mentioned on this page.
Google Fonts
Every page on this site loads a font called DM Sans from Google Fonts. This is a straightforward request to Google's servers, but it means your IP address is shared with Google as part of that request — the same way visiting any website shares your IP with the host.
Google may log this request in accordance with their own privacy policy. Nothing but Tools receives no data from this and has no way to identify individual visitors from it.
If you want to avoid this, a browser extension that blocks Google Fonts requests will prevent it. The site will fall back to your system fonts and remain fully usable.
AI-powered tools and Anthropic
Four tools on this site — the Plain English Summariser, Meeting Notes to Actions, Risk Register Builder, and BC One-Pager Generator — use artificial intelligence to generate their output. When you use one of these tools, the text you paste or type is sent to Anthropic's API to produce the result.
Anthropic's privacy policy explains how they handle API inputs. The short version is that Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models by default, and they have data retention limits on API traffic. You can read the full details at anthropic.com/privacy.
A practical note: avoid pasting genuinely sensitive personal data — names, contact details, financial information — into any of these tools. Describe your project in general terms where possible.
Advertising and tracking
There are no adverts on this site. There are no analytics scripts — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, nothing. There is no tracking of any kind beyond what is described above.
Nothing but Tools does not use cookies. There is no login system and no user accounts, so there is nothing to track across sessions.
Third-party services
The site is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may log standard server-level information such as IP addresses and request timestamps for their own operational purposes. You can read Netlify's privacy policy at netlify.com/privacy.
No other third-party services are used on this site.
